Double R Diner
I had so much fun shooting in my hometown of North Bend, Washington.
You may recognize this diner as the Double R Diner from the David Lynch series Twin Peaks. In real life, the diner is called Twede’s Cafe and is newly owned by husband and wife duo, Max Spears and Rachel Bennet.
Rachel is a dear friend of mine and I loved brainstorming the vision together for their business and branding. They wanted lots of 35mm film (I’m always excited about that) and a specific mood and feeling. We shot most of the images after hours so we could have the place to ourselves. The clouds rolled in and created that classic PNW moody light. Perfect for the shoot .
Rachel and Max became owners right before the pandemic hit and they have managed to not only survive but thrive. They’ve put in so much love to transform Twede’s and create a welcoming destination for Twin Peaks fans and locals alike.
